  “Love will fill your days,” Freda said loudly.

  Carl groaned. “Freda, I thought you agreed to stop doing that. People don't like it when you curse them. It makes them nervous.”

  Freda smiled, a devious, all-knowing smile. “I'm trying, but old habits die hard. And they aren’t curses.”

  Dani looked at her parents. Stunned. That was the only way to describe their expressions. A couple of weeks ago she wouldn't have believed anything could change her parents. Now, thanks to her grandmother, she knew they were in for a big surprise.

  And she was happy for them. Her parents needed love in their lives. As silly and irrational as it seemed, Dani was certain that due to Freda's romantic suggestion, her parents were about to experience the joys of love.

  Smiling, she looked at Travis. “I love you, Killer.”

  “I love you, too, Gypsy,” he said.

  Dani had started to kiss him when she heard Freda say, “Love will be with you forever.”

  She and Travis both looked at her grandmother and realized she was talking to them.

  “We already knew that,” Travis told Freda. Then he kissed Dani.

  Dani wrapped her arms around his neck and held him tightly.

  Oh, yeah, they'd definitely already known that.
